A Computer and Church Design
By Brian P.
Fractal- big, beautiful, mysterious design, zoom in to a small portion and see the same design, zoom in again and see, yet again, the same design.
Computer- motherboard that as a whole produces all the great things that the computer does, but zoom into clusters of circuits that perform specific tasks- I/O, video, CPU- then zoom in again and see the basic transistors. These individual entities can only be on or off zero or one. Appearing to be useless and meaningless on their own but critical to the Maker’s design. The process of being combined into components and given specific tasks with oversight and cooperation from other specially-designed components composed of individual entities intentionally designed and combined by the Maker. Therefore, the system begins to take shape while adding layer upon layer until it can perform the tasks for which it was designed and intended.
A system is designed with some redundancy to compensate for some failures of the individual entities. Still, any failures will compromise the integrity of the component, and too many entity failures will cause a component to fail. Too many component failures, and the system fails. Such a computer system, at that point, is rarely repairable without great effort and cost. The Maker would have little choice but to discard the system at that point. But we serve a loving Maker who desires the concept but is also able to make those repairs. He sent his son as the master technician, trained his replacements, then went even further and sent His Spirit to continue training and instructing new technicians to provide repairs. The Holy Spirit is the ultimate streaming video source that we can tap into any time we need it.
